Why Therapists Need to Take Time Off
Headed out for summer vacation with the kids?
Need a beach break?
Visiting family a few states over?
No matter the reason, there are times you will want and need to take time off.
Why do therapists need to schedule time away?
As therapists, your job can be emotional and mentally draining. Taking time away from your practice can help you develop healthy boundaries and prevent clinical burnout. It is imperative to fully, completely disconnect. No checking your emails, no emergency phone calls, just peace and serenity. (Can you hear the ocean waves calling your name already?)
What if you feel guilty taking time off?
I hear you, you’ve invested so much time, effort, and care into starting your own practice. It can be nerve-wrecking to take time away for yourself. But I ask you this:
If a client was saying they were feeling guilty taking time off work, what would you say to them?
Remember to give yourself that same grace and understanding as you give your clients. You can show up as your best self when you have let your body and brain rest and recover.
How can Purple Pandas help therapists?
It’s time you took a vacation from your practice and here’s the top 3 ways we stand out:
We know you. We’ve already blocked off time in your calendar during important holidays or during your kid’s school breaks. We keep in touch and adjust your schedule so you always have time for both work and play!
We handle the communications for you. We let your caseload know you are on PTO and answer any follow up questions. Any new clients reach out while you are gone? We help get them scheduled when you return and assist with your commonly asked questions. You can rest easy knowing your practice is still operating smoothly while you take some well-deserved rest.
You get a team of Pandas. And our team of Pandas supports your team, whether you are solo or have associate therapists and interns, we are their point of contact while you are away.
